Our conference, for historical reason called School, has been
organized since 1963. The aim of the conference is to increase
the mutual communication of physicists representing various
areas of nuclear physics.

Lectures and seminars will cover new developments in the study
of nuclear structure and nuclear phenomena: from shell model
states to highly collective excitations, from light to superheavy
nuclei, from the exotic proton drip-line nuclei to the very neutron
rich nuclear systems. We will discuss the role of todays nuclear
structure research in the understanding of the astrophysical
processes. A review of latest experimental methods and
apparatus will include presentations of new opportunities
and challenges arising at the radioactive ion beam facilities.

Zakopane, beautifully situated at the foot of the Tatra mountains,
offers a wide choice of free time activities. Early September
promises mild, sunny weather, inviting outdoor recreation.
Be sure to bring sturdy walking boots and clothing suitable
for excursions and strolls. During your visit to Zakopane you
will also have a unique chance to become acquainted with
the folklore of the mountaineers.
